Rescreening services in Lake Mary

Lake Mary Rescreening does five things to screen enclosures in Lake Mary: single panel rescreening, full cage rescreens, screen door repair and replacement, pet-resistant mesh on the panels that need it, and 20x20 no-see-um mesh for lots backing water. All of it is work on an existing frame — we do not sell new enclosures, so nothing here is a rescreen quote written to lose to a rebuild.

Service 01

Panel rescreening

The most common call after a storm or a branch drop. We cut the old mesh out, clear the spline channel completely rather than rolling new spline over old residue, and set new mesh at the same tension as the neighbouring panels so the cage does not read as patched.

Colour and weave are matched to what is already on the cage. If the existing mesh is badly faded, we will tell you a match is not achievable rather than install it and let you find out.

Service 02

Full cage rescreen

Every panel stripped, every channel cleared, new mesh and new spline throughout, and the fasteners at the gutter and beam connections inspected and replaced where they have corroded. On a 1990s Lake Mary cage the fastener work is not an upsell — it is the part that determines whether the new mesh stays in.

This is the right call once the cage is past roughly 20 years and multiple panels have failed. Chasing individual panels on a cage that age costs more over five years than doing it once.

Service 03

Screen door repair and replacement

Sagging and racked doors, worn rollers and guides, bent kickplates, failed closers and latches, and full door panel replacement. The door is the highest-cycle part of the enclosure and the first thing to fail a second time.

A kickplate on the lower door panel is worth specifying up front if the door gets pushed open by anything with four legs.

Service 04

Pet-resistant mesh

Vinyl-coated polyester, several times the tensile strength of standard fiberglass. The mistake is buying it for the whole cage. Dogs do not reach the roof panels — specify pet-resistant on the door panel and the lower run, standard 18x14 above, and the budget goes where the damage is.

Service 05

No-see-um mesh (20x20)

The tighter weave, for the lots that need it. Lake Mary is built around freshwater — Liberty Park sits directly on East Crystal Lake, and Lake Mary, Lake Emma and Crystal Lake sit against residential streets, on top of the retention ponds in nearly every subdivision. UF/IFAS identifies the moist margins of freshwater bodies as prime larval habitat for the biting midges everyone here calls no-see-ums.

If your cage does not back water or a preserve, this is usually not the upgrade to buy — the tighter weave costs you airflow and light. See the mesh guide for the trade-off in detail.

Pricing

What this work costs in Florida

Read this before the table. These are researched market estimates published by other Florida contractors in 2025–2026. They are not Lake Mary Rescreening’s prices, they are not a quote, and none of them are Lake Mary specific — no published Lake Mary or Seminole County price data was found. They are here because a range beats “call for a quote” when you are trying to work out whether to bother calling at all.

Mid-size cage, 20–40 panels$1,500 – $3,200

Ranges published by A Screen Repair Inc., Absolute Aluminum and Browning’s Aluminum for the Florida market in 2025–2026. A second source gives $1.50–$3.50 per square foot installed for a full rescreen. Costs move with panel count, panel height, mesh choice and access — a two-storey mansard cage in Steeple Chase and a small lanai in Grande Oaks are not the same job.

Questions

Panel-level questions

Can you rescreen just one panel of a screen enclosure?

Yes, and often you should. A single torn panel on a cage whose mesh is otherwise sound is a panel job. The thing to insist on is a colour and weave match — a charcoal 18x14 patch next to sun-faded charcoal 18x14 will not disappear, but a grey patch next to charcoal is permanent and obvious. If the cage is 25 years old and you are on your fourth panel, ask for both numbers before you decide.

How much does a single pool screen panel replacement cost?

Published Florida market ranges put a standard ground-level 18x14 panel at roughly $35–$75, an upper panel on a two-storey or mansard cage at $60–$120, and a door panel with a kickplate at $90–$180. Most contractors also apply a minimum charge, so a one-panel visit rarely costs the one-panel price. Those figures are other Florida contractors’ published 2025–2026 estimates, not our prices and not a quote.
